On the nose, bright citrus aromas are accented by fresh meringue with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, enjoy the essence of Sierra Madre’s unique fruit – rich, mouth-filling flavors of crisp citrus with a delicate, balanced pear finish. 10 SPAN’s natural acidity will allow this wine to age gracefully and improve for an exceptionally long period.
Aromas of red berries and fresh flowers are complemented by Asian spice notes that add complexity. A genuine piece of Italian vinous art pure and true. A nice marriage of old and new world styles. It has a few characteristics that make it a bit dirty and interesting in an old world way, but enough fruit to appeal to fans of new world wines. It has a slightly smoky and dusty nose with dark berries and leather. There is very good concentration in the palate. Cherries, blackberries and chocolate all have a strong presence. There is a lot of fruit, but the fruit is a touch young tasting-keeping this wine very dry. It has a medium length finish with smooth tannins and a hint of chocolate. Drink with pizza, pasta or burgers while taking a load off with good friends.
Static decanting of the must and soft pressing; controlled temperature fermentation and aging in stainless steel. Hints of apple, apricot, and iris. Goes perfectly with seafood salads and light fish dishes.

The 2012 Pennywise Sauvignon Blanc has aromatics of cantaloupe melon, tropical pineapple and ripe pear. This wine fills the palate with citrus lime, and tropical fruit flavors that are both very expressive and produce a velvety mouth feel. A refreshing, crisp wine!
Golden straw in tone, our 2012 Chardonnay has aromas of caramel, baked pineapple, and spice applesauce. A fruity, medium body effortlessly transitions to an unforgettable finish highlighted with bright apricots and peach flavors.
The 2012 Pennywise Pinot Noir has outstanding color with a deep ruby hue. The aromas are reminiscent of crushed rose petal, fresh baked blueberry pie, wild cherry and hints of toasted cedar. Tart cherry and cranberry flavors dominate and then open to include the addition of rich vanilla, an influence from French oak, followed by wild huckleberry and toasty marshmallow. The finish dances between tart red fruits and pleasing, mellow oak notes of vanilla, toasted coconut, cinnamon and clove.
The 2012 vintage shows textbook Petite Sirah color with an inky purple hue. The aromatics show notes of intense blueberry, dark cherry reduction, violets, and vanilla bean. Once again, the flavors start sweet and then get darker on the finish. This blend starts with blueberry pie, blackberry, sweet purple basil, and dark caramel. The wine finishes with dark molasses, toasted cedar plank, sweetened dried cherries, and mocha coffee.
Deep purple in color, our 2011 Merlot displays aromas of purple basil, sweet leather, black raspberries, and caramelized vanilla. The flavor starts with hints of blackberry and raspberries and then transitions to savory herbal flavors, fresh fig, and toasted oak. The wine finishes with lingering flavors of dried blueberries, root beer and cinnamon bark.
The 2012 Pennywise Cabernet Sauvignon came together nicely. 54% 2012 Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon from a couple of our growers added dark color and rich black fruit. 35% 2012 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon brought earthy terrior nuances and mouth filling tannins. The final blend included the addition of Sonoma County red varietals which added extensive depth and complexity. Following a bit of bottle age, the result is a delicious, classic California Cabernet Sauvignon.
